San Marino is a dwarf state, located on an area of just over 60 square kilometers. From all sides San Marino tightly "hugs" Italy and you can get to the small country only through the "neighbor". Despite its tiny size and small number of citizens (about 32,000 people), San Marino carefully preserves its history and is proud of the traditions of the Old World. San Marino is located on the slope of Monte Titano and resembles a small fairytale state with unique fortifications and breathtaking panorama. Every year in San Marino grandiose medieval festivals are held, when the streets of the old city are filled with festive noise, and the locals dress up in old costumes, arrange a carnival procession, crossbow shooting competitions and treat guests to dishes prepared according to old recipes.
San Marino banking system
San Marino has the highest GDP in Europe. The main sources of income for this small country are banking, tourism and industry. In San Marino, you can register foreign companies without restrictions, which is used by many foreign businessmen.
The Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino began its existence in 2005: it merged state financial structures with private ones, now the state owns 70% of the shares of the central financial institution of the country, and other banks of San Marino - the remaining 30%.
