A business owner has an entrepreneurial mindset. They see opportunities in the world around them. And as soon as they notice a new opportunity, they can no longer say goodbye to it. A plan of action immediately arises in my head, my eyes are burning with an idea, and all other routine matters fade into the background. Entrepreneurs are found at all levels of society, from roadside traders to founders of large technology corporations. All of them have one thing in common: they make money with an enterprise over which they have complete control. The makings of a businessman are manifested in many people even in childhood: they collect and change "goods" (toys, stickers, games, etc.), conclude deals and agree, sell something. By nature, these are purposeful people who are always open to new things and are ready to test different ideas. The responsibilities of the owner revolve around the entrepreneurial mindset: he is involved in development, strategy, product line expansion and improvement. The main mistake of owners of an already established business is to remain in startup mode. At the very beginning of the path, there is no team, no resources. A startup is a continuous crisis, so the owner must plunge into the routine, establish processes, and independently perform many functions. When the business has passed this stage, it is time for the owner to switch from the “execution” mode to “management”.
Owner responsibilities change as the business grows, but globally they always consist of three points:
understanding your personal goals
strategic management
effective management control
This means that the owner should not dive into current issues and look for clients, negotiate, sell, think over a marketing strategy, and select employees. Its functionality is an order of magnitude higher: analysis of competitors and the environment, development and testing of new ideas, planning of business development and scaling. It drives company growth, not operational efficiency.
