Staff motivation: how to create and improve

What is motivation: what is it and what is it for?

A motivation system is a set of incentives that determine a person's behavior. Each leader himself determines this set. Motivation is always in sync with corporate culture, company values, goals and vision. She also helps to attract new talented employees who match the personality traits. For a motivation system to be effective, it must be:

  • Objective: the amount of remuneration depends on the results of work.

  • Predictable: Employees need to understand what bonus they will receive when meeting goals.

  • Adequate: remuneration should be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the employee, with his contribution to the achievement of the result.

  • Significant: motivation must be attractive to employees.

  • Fair: The team must understand how the incentive system works and agree with its fairness.

Why do you need a motivation system?

1. Changes a negative attitude to a positive one. Without motivation, employees meet the required minimum. They do not use all possible company resources and their own to achieve a result.

2. Increases productivity. Motivation bridges the gap between desire and ability to work. Employees work to their maximum and use all means on the way to the goal.

3. Helps achieve organizational goals. The goals voiced by the owner will be achieved only if the employees are interested in their implementation. Therefore, it is important to communicate with the team and make sure that the goals of the company and employees resonate.

4. Improves the morale in the team. A good manager-subordinate relationship is only possible with the right motivation. Recognition, respect, the importance of contributing to the development of the company - this gives a sense of cooperation instead of a sense of submission.
