International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) are international professional standards for engaging in auditing activities.
Implementation and development of international audit standards is carried out by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) currently unites 175 members from 130 countries. Only countries that are members of the International Federation of Accountants can apply international auditing standards as national standards.
ISAs are currently used in more than 100 jurisdictions worldwide, and more than 80 of these jurisdictions also require the use of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) for all or most publicly accountable entities.
International auditing standards in English are issued.
International auditing standards include five consecutive interrelated parts:
1.the main postulates are logical principles, patterns and necessary conditions that represent the general basis of the standards of audit activity;
2.general standards - this is the degree of qualification and certain qualities that the auditor must possess in order to perform tasks professionally and effectively;
3.working standards - these are the rules by which auditors are guided in carrying out audit tasks (control and supervision, planning, collecting relevant and reliable information and evaluating the internal control system);
4. audit report and reporting standards;
5. specific standards (audit of entities that use the services of service organizations;
