Are offshores a relic of the past or not?

In the financial world, experts use the term "offshore" to define jurisdictions, which usually consist of small exotic islands, usually in the Caribbean and the Pacific, whose financial policies are favorable to foreign investment. For example, the classic offshore companies are the British Virgin Islands (BVI), Saint Vincent, Belize, Cayman Islands, Seychelles, etc. They are also known as tax havens. These are jurisdictions that do not have taxes on capital gains, dividend payments, royalties, inheritance and gifts. This has always attracted successful entrepreneurs who want to protect and increase their capital and reduce the tax burden. But now the demand for offshore companies is no longer the same as it was before. You can even say that it is not. There are only isolated cases when companies use classical offshore companies in the structure of holding companies or for franchising, where an offshore company, as the owner of a trademark, receives royalties. Such schemes use such classic offshore companies as Belize, Seychelles, British Virgin Islands. Some businessmen still use classic offshore companies in trading schemes, since the income received from transactions when buying goods in one country and selling them in another is deposited in an offshore company, which, in turn, is free from tax obligations at the place of registration.
